Wills

We appreciate that making a Will is neither an exciting nor an uplifting thing to do but it is a very important requirement for anyone who is seeking to ensure that their chosen beneficiaries. By making a Will, you also choose someone to administer your estate in the event of your death. Provision may also be made for the care of your children.

In the absence of a Will, the succession to your estate will be determined by the rules of Intestacy

There are certain circumstances where it is particularly important to have a Will. If you are a cohabiting couple you should be aware that the law does not automatically recognise cohabitees as having the same rights as a married couple. If you have not made a Will, there could be uncertainty as to who should care for your children or dependants if you die. You may also require advice in relation to inheritance tax and how this might affect your estate and your beneficiaries..

We will do our very best to ensure that making your Will is as straightforward, expedient, and cost effective as possible, however complex your instructions may be, and to ensure that your wishes are carried out.

Even if you have made a will, it is important to review it from time to time and to update it if there is any significant change in your family or financial circumstances. See also: Updating your Will.
