Message In A Bottle
The message in a bottle (‘MIAB’) scheme is intended to save the emergency services time in dealing with an accident or illness. The idea is to make it easy for emergency services to find essential information about medication, allergies and emergency contact details. The scheme can benefit anyone but especially important for those who are vulnerable and/or living alone. Important information is kept in a small but distinctive plastic container kept in the fridge door.
We have a supply of the MIAB containers. Emergency services will look for these containers but there are also small labels to be attached to the fridge and the inside of the front door as a reminder.
The scheme is supported by Lions Clubs up and down the country and more information can be found here.
