Exclusivity Terms in Zero Hours Contracts

  • Posted

Draft regulations have been published to deal with Exclusivity Terms in ‘zero hours’ employment contracts. The effect of the regulations will be to prevent employers from including provisions to preclude employees from undertaking work under other contracts.  Those employed under zero hours contracts will have a right not to be unfairly dismissed, or to be subjected to other detriment,  for failure to  comply with such an ‘exclusivity clause’.
